Family law isn’t just a job for Guest & Gray attorney Chevera Blakemore. It’s personal. Having watched her father fight to adopt and gain custody of Chevera’s older sister after their mother was killed, Chevera knows what it’s like to be on the client side and is committed to paying it forward in her career by helping parents get the best resolution to their family law issues.
Exceptionally compassionate, empathetic, hardworking, and competent, Chevera finds joy and
satisfaction in helping her clients navigate divorce, custody, and adoption disputes so they can
move on with their lives and find peace and happiness.
A native of Desoto, Texas, Chevera graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of
Science in Political Science. She then earned a Certificate of Public Health and Doctor of
Jurisprudence degree from the University of Arkansas, where she was president of the Black
Law Student Association and founding member and citation editor of the Arkansas Journal of
Social Change, a publication dedicated to raising awareness of social changes in Arkansas.
Chevera practiced family law in Arkansas and worked in healthcare before founding The
Blakemore Law Firm in Dallas, which focused on family law, probate court (including trusts),
and estate planning. She joined Guest & Gray in November of 2024.
Known for fostering strong client relationships through clear communication and empathy and
being accessible to her clients, Chevera is a staunch advocate for her clients and a skilled
negotiator with a commitment to amicable dispute resolution when possible, coupled with the
ability to assertively litigate when necessary. She specializes in divorce, child custody (especially for fathers), spousal support, and domestic relations matters.
The proud mother of a one-year-old son, Chevera enjoys reading, baking, her Peloton, and
spending time with family and friends.
